David Parker of The Beat magazine speaks to American expat in the UK, P.J. Proby as his 70th birthday approaches.

He tells David that he feels just the same as he did at 17!!
He also lets us know more about his feelings on politics, England and what happened to him when he was banned during the 60's. The whole story is in a book he has written but he explains that so far, he has not found a publisher with the courage to print it! It certainly sounds like hot stuff.

So what of his life now? He currently lives in the Midlands on a fruit farm which offers pick-your-own apples and plums. When asked about his involvement in the picking, P.J. makes it clear he is not to be found standing in the orchards. Sorry girls!

Even though most artists might consider retiring, P.J. is still touring, writing and recording. Whilst on the road he travels in a Winnibago with his constant female companion. Who is that? You need to listen to the programme.
