The way a mortgage broker can help….
In many ways….. and this isn’t me talking just about mortgagefrance –this should apply to all mortgage brokers….
Firstly – for guidance. To get an idea of the maximum mortgage a person can borrow, and the approximate monthly costs. We can set people on the right track with guidelines of the purchase price.
From a few questions and answers, we can work out the income vs expenditure calculation – that’s the third of income regulation.
Sometimes we will advise taking a longer term mortgage to keep within the income limit
The banks offer mortgage facilities, but they do vary in what they will consider. They will all obviously lend for a straightforward property purchase, some will accept post financement, (re-couping the cost of a cash purchase within 12 months of the purchase), or financing renovation works, but equity release, not many will offer that.
As a mortgage broker, we will ask for quotations from the lenders who best suit the clients requirements. And the client is free to choose which lender they prefer, whether it be for the lowest monthly payment, the mortgage facilities, or personal preference.
During the early days of someone dipping their toe in the water, starting to think about buying a property in France – through to completing on the purchase, we’re always here to answer any questions whatsoever – in fact we encourage people to ask questions – the more that is known and understood the better.
