And all the way through the mortgage procedure the broker will be monitoring the progress of an application, and keeping the client informed of its progress.
But apart from acting as the buffer between the lender and the client – and it can be that way sometimes, the mortgage broker should be able to point people in a direction of other professionals for additional help and services – such as where to find a Notaire, buildings insurance, currency exchange and transfers, financial advice for those moving permanently to France.
We often get enquiries ranging from questions about health, to schooling for children, and yes, we know of information websites that have the answers to those questions – we’ll point people in the right direction – it’s hard not knowing your way around – and we’re here to help as much as we can.
But not everyone behaves as they expect their mortgage broker, or the lender to…
No they don’t, some people – not all, but some, do waste a a lot of time.
The quotation system that each bank uses will produce the same quotation, the same interest rate, if the information put into the system is the same.
So expecting a quotation from one broker to be different from another broker going to the same bank is a waste of time.
