Why use the services of a broker ?

Using the services of a broker – that is someone who specialises in a set subject, can save you a lot of time, because they will have done a lot of the preliminary legwork for you, and spent a lot of time getting to know who to go to for what, and will have built up good working relationships and agencies or contacts.

Just think if you had to find telephone numbers, make phone calls, and try to speak to the right person - someone who would be able to help you – and all in French of course

A broker is a person who knows their own specialist subject, whether it be for mortgages, insurance, financial investments – the list can go on and on.

But the term broker, is not one that is easily explained or found in France.

Take, for instance – car insurance – many people would think of picking up the phone, or getting on the internet, or even walking into a general insurance brokerage, to ask for comparison quotations.

It is very different in France. To obtain a selection of quotations from different companies, will mean getting in touch with various offices. There are not really any brokerages that can provide a range of quotations.

Each insurance office will only have an agency with one insurance company.

So to get a quote by AGF, you will need to find an office that has an AGF agency. To get a quote by AXA, you will need to find an office that has an agency with AXA. And so on ….

So you see, to find a competitive car insurance quote
